Williamstown Residence
An existing house, built in the early 1980s was expanded and transformed into a meticulously designed shingle-style home.
Wood cabinetry, doors, and trim were fabricated in a coordinated design with a custom molded profile. Paint color and finishes were applied to articulate and emphasize the interior architecture. Lighting, while providing comfortable levels of general illumination, was used to define form, important features, and textures.
A sculptural relief was commissioned by the owner. It is composed of wood molds used in the development and fabrication of tools and machines. These antique wood molds were transformed into a large sculptural wall relief displayed prominently in the living room. It is a reminder of the family business from the mid-1800s to the 1980s.
