Berkshire Pulse Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
After an extended period without a formal home, Berkshire Pulse, the amazing dance studio, that provides South Berkshire County's children, teenagers and adults with dance education and a love of the art form, had its formal ribbon cutting. Pulse occupies the 6000 square foot third floor of the Rubin Mill overlooking the Housatonic River. The event was attended by Jennifer Tabakin, Town Manager of Great Barrington and Smitty Pignatelli, State Representative to the Massachusetts House. The mood was celebratory and joyful since Pulse brings great energy and life to the Village of Housatonic and the region. Led by Bettina Montano, the Founder and Artistic Director, and Diane Pearlman, President of the Board, classes have more than doubled since moving into their new space. Clark & Green, Inc. provided architectural services for design and the installation of the studios. The firm also guided the Owners' of the Rubin Mill in the process of installing a modern fire suppression system and Building Code upgrades. These upgrades allowed the building tenants including Berkshire Pulse, to obtain Certificates of Occupancy. Additionally, to provide handicap accessibility in conformance with the Architectural Access Board Regulations of Massachusetts, Clark & Green, Inc. obtained a Variance from the Board.
